Cervical & Lumbar Traction

 

Cervical traction is a common nonsurgical treatment for a herniated disc in the neck that relieves pain by opening up the cervical foramen to reduce pressure on compressed nerve roots exiting the spinal canal. Correspondigly, lumbar traction is the continuous or intermittent application of force to the spine. The purpose of lumbar traction is to reduce the pain related with nerve root impingement and muscle spasms. It is also used to treat degenerative disc disease, herniated or protruding discs and osteoarthritis.

Paraffin Wax

Cold Therapy

 

Cold therapy slows circulation, reducing inflammation, muscle spasm, and pain. It should be used if the area is swollen or bruised. Any cold treatment should be used for 24 to 48 hours after an injury. Cold therapy is good for sprains, strains, bumps, and bruises that may occur in sports or lifting. Cold therapy can be done by applying cold pads to injured areas for no more than 20 minutes at a time, removing the cold pads for 10 minutes and reapplying it again.
